- All scheduled tournaments
shall be administered by designated directors selected
by the M.S.C.B.A. as its Tournament Director. The
Tournament Director shall be the chief supervisor
and representative of the M.S.C.B.A. for all sponsored
tournaments
- These tournaments are open
to any bowler who has a current membership card in
the M.S.C.B.A. and must be shown upon request of the
Tournament Director. Cost of the membership card is
$15.00 and shall be payable upon signing up for your
initial tournament.
- The Tournament Director
reserves the right to refuse any entry which does
not abide by the rules and regulations stipulated
by the M.S.C.B.A.
- All bowlers must name their
home lanes when buying their M.S.C.B.A. card. Bowler’s
must bowl at least one Adult League in that house.
You must compete on a league and complete two-thirds
of the season. All Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Mixed Teams
, and Teams will come from the same house for the
tournament season.
- PROPRIETOR’S ARE RESPONSIBLE
FOR ALL BOWLERS CALLED IN. Cancellations can be made
no later than Thursday prior to the scheduled event.
If a cancellation has not been made by that time,
the bowler owns that spot and must pay the full amount
of entry fee if he/she does not show up. If the spot
can be filled by the Tournament Director prior to
the scheduled event, the bowler will then be relieved
of the responsibility of paying for that spot. The
Director shall maintain a Stand-By list.
- All Tournaments will be governed
by the existing rules in the I.C.B.A. Rule Book. M.S.C.B.A
referees will be present to ensure rules are followed
and to watch for lobbed balls.
- Each house will allow 10
minutes of free warm up before the tournament. It
is mandatory that all bowlers arrive at the site one
half hour before the tournament starts.
- Once a lane has been drawn
by a bowler, there will be no changing of lanes. NOTE
Lane drawings will be held before scheduled flight
time. If a bowler is not on hand for drawing, a lane
will be assigned to late bowlers.
- LATE COMERS: Bowlers failing
to show up before the Director fills in the open slots
by moving bowlers around prior to starting, must forfeit
their entry fee unless an opening is available on
another flight. Late bowlers can not bowl once a ball
has been rolled in the flight.
- Flight scheduling will be
done on a “First Come, First Serve” basis.
- Handicaps shall be based
on 95% of the difference between 140 and the bowler's
average. MSCBA averages will be used for all bowlers'
that have a state average. A new bowler's average
shall be based on their highest league average in
the house they are representing with a minimum of
30 league games bowled.
- No fees will be returned
after entries have been received and the flight times
assigned. Except in dire emergency such as medical,
fire, accident, etc.
- If a tie occurs for any reason,
the tie will be broken by the highest single and prize
money will be given to the person or team with the
highest single.
- Prize money shall be distributed
according to the amount of entries in each event.
- Multiple participation in
any one event is prohibited. You can only bowl ONCE
in any tournament.
- Flights may be added or cancelled
depending upon the number of entries at the discretion
of the Tournament Director.
- Participating bowlers on
the current flight are the only ones allowed to keep
score unless the Tournament Director designates a
person or persons as scorekeepers.
- SANDBAGGING: For computer
information, any bowler scoring less than 80 pins
of his/her average for a ten string tournament or
40 pins for 5 strings tournament will be credited
for that tournament with his computer average minus
the above pins.
- A Junior Bowler who participates
in any events during the year will not be eligible
to participate in Adult events in that same year.
Any person that has reached their 17th birthday and
has not participated in a Junior event during that
current tournament season may enter all the M.S.C.B.A.
Inc Sponsored event as long as they qualify according
to all M.S.C.B.A. Inc. Rules and Regulations.
- SPORTSMANSHIP CONDUCT: Any
participant attempting to damage any bowling equipment
by his/her action or conduct that is disruptive to
the proper administration of any event sponsored by
the M.S.C.B.A. shall receive a warning on the first
offense, and a zero shall be given for that frame.
If bowler commits second offense of the above, he/she
shall be pulled from the event and suspended and a
zero shall be given for that frame. A dummy score
(Average minuse ten) shall be used on all Teams for
the suspended bowler. Third offense will receive a
written warning and inability to bowl in the next
stop. In any case where damage occurs by the results
of the above to any equipment in the host lanes, full
restitution shall be suspended from bowling any M.S.C.B.A.
Sponsored event until restitution is made.
